infertility

So there have been alot of people asking me lately about how infertility is going, so I figured I would just write on here about it. With Malana from the time that we started trying to the time that we got pregnant was 3 years. 2 of those I was doing fertility treatments including taking chlomid, dostinex and estrogen, as well as one surgery and artificial insemination. We felt so blessed when we finally got pregnant with her because the next step was invitro fertilization or adoption which eiether one costs like 10,000 dollars at least! So when Malana was born we were hoping that it wouldn't take us as long to get pregnant a second time, but just in case we started trying again pretty much right after she was born. So this time around we have been trying for about two years and we have been on fertility treatments for about one year. Most of my hormones were good this time but it took awhile to get my body to ovulate again (about six months), I just had my blood tested a couple of days ago to make sure that I was ovulating and the Dr. called and said it all looked good. So pray for us and that we can get pregnant because the next step is surgery...again, and I don't want to do that! Sorry long post I know!

sled shoes and hair do's!

We had a great day on Saturday, spending time as a family. We went to the Ucon pit (an old gravel pit a couple of miles from our house) and went sledding. Malana liked it, although she was more interested in finding other kids to play with and watching the other kids sled then she was in sledding. She is our little social butterfly.

Then when we came home we built a snowman in the front yard, it fell over the next day :( but we had fun anyways!

That night we had some girl time and I did Malana's hair and painted her nails, which she loves! I love doing Malana's hair in new and creative ways, but I always forget to take pictures of it. For Sunday I usually do her hair the night before so that she is pretty much ready to go in the morning. I thought that she looked so cute in her thermals and hair ribbons! p.s. if you are looking for a good website to learn new do's go to http://www.shedoeshair.blogspot.com/, it's one of my favs!

The back (do you know how hard it is to get a two year old to turn around so that you can get a picture of the back of their head!?!)

The front/side (the pictures a little dark, but you get the idea. and the marks on her face are scratches from the cat, she still loves it but mauls it to death, and it's only defense is to scratch her so that she will let it go! poor cat!)

The top!

I must admit...

I must admit that I love the new kitten! At first I wasn't so sure about having a cat but Malana LOVES the thing. When I decided to get it for her I was feeling really bad that she doesn't have any siblings or other kids to play with. At home she gets SO bored sometimes, and I was hoping that the cat would be a good companion. The first thing that she asks in the morning is "Where's Rue?" and the last thing that she says at night is "Night, night Rue! Love you!". I thought that maybe the novelty would wear off but it still hasn't. She has played with her all day, every day since Christmas and the cat is truly becoming her best friend. The poor cat though, Malana is still a little rough sometimes. Tonight the cat sat next to the tub while Malana was in it just waiting for her to get out. And the cat has been surprisingly good for my spirits. I have been getting discouraged lately because of the infertility and she has filled a little bit of that nurturing need that can be so overwhelming sometimes. I know, I know, a cat is no substitute for a child and I never thought that I would be one of those crazy cat people, and I was surprised that she has made things better, but we are loving the kitten!

On a funnier note Malana has started calling Travis "Trabis" and it cracks me up every time she says it. It is always " I love you Trabis" or " where's daddy Trabis?" She never calls him daddy anymore unless it's "daddy Trabis", it's pretty funny.

party, party, party.....PARTY!!!

For new years eve we had an adults only party at my parents house. My mom put together an "at home" amazing race. we had to put together puzzles, ride stick horses to the mailbox, get marbles out of whipped cream with your toes, blow marshmallows across the floor, count electrical outlets, play the wii, etc... It was great fun! Then we danced for the rest of the night and played a few other games. We had a great time.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
