Summer Fun!

Last week we went to the drive-in and saw "Night at the museum 2" and the new X-men movie. I love the drive-in. It is one of those things that reminds me of my childhood. I know that we went at least once a summer and I remember seeing Batman and Ninja Turtles, I think that my parents took us there because back in the day you could get in for 5 dollars a car and we would take our HUGE 12 passenger van, it was so fun! Now it is 6.50 a person but at least you get to see two shows.

This is Malana helping her dad dig up worms for fishing, which she refused to touch but wanted to carry around in the cup.

and just because she is cute!

comic relief and recipes!

So I decided (after the last post) that I needed some humor, so I decided to write about all of the funny things that I can remember from the last week.

-I pulled out Malana's little tiny pool (like maybe a foot deep) and on the side it said:
do not leave children unattended
No diving

-At church last week:

-(In a VERY loud voice) Malana said several time "AMEN! okay I said amen lets go!, I said AMEN so lets go home! mommy did you hear me AMEN!"

- After Travis took Malana to the bathroom at church (and for the first time on a big potty) he came back to sacrament and said "my shoes are wet, whoever knew that, that thing would shoot forward."

- A conversation between Travis and his mom:
Travis mom: "So who is still left in Survivor?"
Travis: "Jo"
TM: "Jo who?"
Travis: "Jo Mama"
TM: "Oh, is that the black lady?"

- Malana insists on being the one to say the prayer pretty much every night (and she is good at reminding us) this was her prayer one of the nights:

Heavenly Father
please bess (bless) Rue
please bess Sidnee
...Alex
...Grandma and Grandpa
ank(thank) you daddy
ank you poop
...pee
and there was much more after that but neither Travis nor I heard a word because we were both laughing so hard. I sure hope that God has a sense of humor!

So there were more but those were the ones that I can remember.

Also, on one of my friends blogs she has a link to her own recipe blog, which I thought was such a fun idea. So I decided to do one of my own with a twist. I thought that it would be fun to be able to share recipes and get recipes with all of you and your friends. The blog can have up to 100 contributors so if you are interested in contributing e-mail me at abbyhull@live.com with your e-mail address or any of your friends who would want to contribute and trust have them send me their e-mail address and I can add them as contributors! How fun is that! The more the merrier so if you are interested please let me know! I only have two recipes on there now but if you have any favorites or new ones I would love to have you put them on there too (becuase I need some new ideas for dinner!). It is kind of cool because once you are a contributor you just have to log in like you would the blog you have now and the other one will pop up and you can add a post just like you do to your regular blog. So here is the address: http://www.recipesfrommetoyou.blogspot.com/.
Enjoy! (also there is a link to it on the side)

!!!!!!Happy Mommy Day!!!!!!!!

Mothers day was great. We went to church in our own ward and they gave us the lovely corsage that I am wearing in the picture. It was actually really cute because there is a lady in our ward who has down syndrome and she was so excited to get her flower, she just kept looking at it over and over, stroking it, and had a HUGE grin on her face all through relief society. It made my day. Then we headed down to Pocatello where all of the men in the family made and cleaned up dinner - yummy! Travis made his mom and my mom butter bells and I made them six different kinds of butter. I wish that I would have taken a picture of the butter bells because Travis' turned out really nice. Travis gave me a really nice note and a voucher for a date at the drive-in. He even offered to go donate plasma so that we could pay for it. :) All and all it was a pretty great mothers day.
