Spiritual thoughts for the day.

In Sunday school today someone gave this example:
How often do you brush your teeth in a day? let's say twice. okay so how much toothpaste do you use each time? about a dime size, okay. How often in a week do you brush your teeth? everyday, at twice a day, fourteen times. Okay so let me see your toothbrush, here are fourteen dime size dollops of toothpaste go ahead and brush your teeth, that should do you for the week right? No! So what makes you think that one binge on spiritual things on Sunday can keep you clean for an entire week. It has to be persistent and everyday, the more often you do it the cleaner you are going to be able to stay. just like your teeth :)

The second one is one of my own:
The only thing that you can control in this life are the choices you make. Whether good or bad each and every decision will affect you, those around you and generations to come. You want power? That is power. Choose wisely and let God take care of the rest.

Funny!

This video makes me laugh every time I see it. It is the first time, EVER, that Travis changed a diaper. So I am posting it in honor of Malana's birthday today!

I can't believe that my baby is 3!

Malana has been so excited for her birthday this year, she would walk around the house singing happy birthday and she would put hats on her stuffed animals and sing to them. When we were at my mom's last weekend we celebrated my nephews birthday, she was so excited and sang "happy birthday" so loudly until we came to the part where we said his name and then you could see her heart drop because she thought it was her turn. We celebrated Malana's birthday today with both my parents and Travis' family. My parents came for church and then they stayed for lunch, opening presents, and blowing out candles on the cake. Malana enjoyed seeing them.
"Malana how old are you?" "I three!"





Then we headed to Travis' parents house where we had dinner, then we opened presents and ate cake. This year Malana has been really into dressing up,princess' and castles. So needless to say it was a VERY girly birthday. She was so fun this year and so excited that it was finally her turn to be sang happy birthday too.

I hope they call me on a mission!

This last weekend my parents spoke in church as their "farewell" talks. The Saturday before all of my parents kids who live close enough went to the temple to do sealings it was so nice to be there together, we just wished that Eric and Nancy lived closer so they could be there with us : ) I think that they went to the Portland temple on the same day so that we could feel connected that way. That night the adults got together for dinner and the men gave a blessing to my mom and dad before they left. It was such a neat experience to have!

Then on Sunday my parents gave some great talks in church my mom spoke about learning from the past and my dad spoke on temple blessings. Afterwards everyone had lunch at my parents house. Doing all of this made it so real, and while I will miss them terribly while they are gone I am grateful for the example that they are setting for me and my children.
