Persephanie!!!!!!

Persephanie's birth story:

 We went into the hospital at about 7:15 am on the 28th to be induced.  I was a little nervous, but really excited to have her here!  After we got all of the paperwork done they started me on pit at around 8:30.  I started having contractions immediately but they were relatively painless.  My Dr. came in at about 9:15 to break my water.  He said that I was at a 3, and after he broke it the contractions started getting more intense.  I got an epidural  at about 10:30, he had to do it twice which was extraordinarily unpleasant, but worth not feeling the pain.  The contractions were getting more frequent and stronger when the nurse  came in at 1:15 and said that the Dr. had an emergency at the other hospital so they were going to turn down the pit until the Dr. would be available.  The monitor showed that my contractions were getting less strong, and further apart and more erratic, so we thought that I had probably stopped dilating, and that it would be a little while.  I started feeling immense pressure, and the epidural was wearing off a little at about 2:30.  The nurse came in at 2:45 and said the Dr. was back so she was going to turn the pit up to get me going again,  I told her I felt a lot of pressure and that I was starting to get a little bit of feeling back.  She said that she would check me and then call the anesthesiologist to check my meds, when she checked me she got a slightly panicked look and said that I was at a full ten and more then ready to push,  the anesthesiologist came in at 2:55 and gave me a booster, which definitely worked.  The Dr. came in at about the same time.  They prepped me and I started pushing at 3:00, I pushed through three contractions and she was born at 3:07.  We were so glad to meet her!  My body did much better on the recovery this time.  I didn't have to take any pain meds after delivery and I really did feel great, such a different experience than with Malana.  Persephanie weighed 7 pounds and 15 ounces and was 20 and 3/4 inches long, and perfect in every other way.  At first we thought that her hair was light like Lana's but it is more of a medium brown.  The nurses called her the piranha because the first time she nursed she did such a great job of latching on, and nursing has been great since then, once again totally different than Malana.  She has been such an easy baby so far, and I had forgotten how wonderful it is to hold and cuddle a newborn.

 Malana was really excited to meet her and thought that she was great... at first, since then she has been a little jealous, and wants to know things like "why does Sephie get to stay up?"  etc...

Sephie and Grandma and Grandpas, I don't know how we managed to not get a single picture of my mom with the baby, but she was there!

 Her first day home and everyone was a little exhausted but we were so glad to have her with us!

Ummm...  I decided to take some pictures before Persephanie got too big, but her big sister wanted some pictures too, and was just a tad bit jealous that Sephie was getting more pictures then her... hahaha, poor thing she feels so picked on!  It is hard being the big sister!  She really does like her most of the time but we have had a few jealousy melt downs.  Sephie has been a great baby, and I really have felt great, so much better than I did after Malana.  I have been so overwhelmed with the outpouring of dinners, gifts and visits from family, friends and ward members, it has made us feel very loved.
