We went to the St. Anthony 24th of July parade this weekend, Malana's favorite part was the horsies. After that we went to Travis' parents house and had a BBQ. It was a fun weekend.

You're lucky you got to go to a parade. I don't even know if they have parades here (obviously not for pioneer day), much less if they throw candy at them. I don't want a sandbox either, though my reasoning has more to do with cats...
Instead of ruling out a sandbox, you could just teach Malana not to eat dirt.
